Recent sales announcements by Eos Energy Storage, makers of Zinc-Bromine based grid storage batteries, puts the young companies sales backlog above 1 GWh or volume and to $460 million.

The new orders will go onto the ERCOT grid in Texas and were selected for their flexibility, being able to handle variable durations of anywhere from 3 to 12 hours of storage. Notable also, Texas is hot. Unlike lithium-ion batteries, Zinc-Bromine doesn’t need cooling and can operate up to 50C (122F).
