Idemitsu Australia Proposes 108 MW VRFB
Idemitsu Australia, the Australian arm of Japanese energy company Idemitsu Kosan, is proposing a 108 MW/864 MWh vanadium flow battery at a decommissioned coal mine in New South Wales, Australia.
The firm is already collaborating with Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 on a separate energy storage initiative on the same site.
Eos to Raise $263M for Frontier
Zinc battery powerhouse Eos Energy Enterprises is expected to raise $263M for Frontier Power USA, its joint vehicle with Cerberus Capital Management to build and deploy Eos technology.
The raise brings Frontier’s total available funds to $1B from multiple sources. Separately, Frontier’s pipeline now includes approximately 16 GWh of opportunities, 5 of which have already been purchased, selected, or are under active diligence.

CellCube, Rongke Power Top Operational Rankings
Austrian vanadium redox flow manufacturer CellCube is the top non-lithium LDES OEM in Q2 2026, ranked by both operational energy capacity and operational project count. Chinese VRFB manufacturer Rongke Power leads the cumulative rankings since the industry’s start.
