$1.62M Award to Supercharge Enzinc R&D
Zinc anode manufacturer Enzinc has been selected for a $1.62 million award from the California Energy Commission. The award will be applied toward R&D to advance Enzinc’s electrode platform for high-power and long-duration energy storage needs. The milestone follows the firm’s recent $8M Series A.
Enzinc is collaborating on this project with multiple partners:
- Octet Scientific will lead electrolyte development to enhance battery performance for grid-specific applications.
- The Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) at UC Riverside for system-level design and testing for microgrid applications.
- Factor will support project administration.
- Through Community Resources for Science (CRS) and Richmond Promise, this project also helps develop the next generation of energy professionals.
