UK Gov't Launches £28M Funding for 100+ Hour Storage
The UK government has launched a grant program offering £28 million (US $38.15 million) towards technologies that can store and discharge energy for over 100 hours.
The announcement builds on a recent grant program for 8- to 22-hour duration tech, and is focused on building the foundation to support expanding intermittent solar and wind generation in 2040 and beyond.
Examples of 100-hour plus storage systems include iron-air firms Form Energy and Ore Energy.

Allegro Partners with Jena to Accelerate Commercial Deployment
Allegro Energy has entered a strategic partnership with Jena Batteries, a subsidiary of China-based Suqian Time Energy Storage, to accelerate the commercial deployment of Allegro's microemulsion electrolyte RFB.
The deal builds on the momentum of Allegro's 60 MWh pilot with Australian energy giant Origin, which has a 5% equity stake in Allegro.

Eos Taps Wattmore to Support Z3
Zinc-based battery manufacturer Eos Energy Enterprises has announced its selection of renewables infrastructure software firm Wattmore‘s SCADA software platform to support its Z3 long-duration energy storage systems.

The U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright came to Lincoln, Maine to celebrate iron-air leader Form Energy‘s planned construction of an 85 MW battery site, made possible by nearly $150 million in federal funds from the Biden Administration as part of a bipartisan infrastructure law negotiated by 10 senators including Maine's Susan Collins.
