Gold Peak Launches New NiZn Battery Manufacturing Facility

Battery giant Gold Peak Technology Group has opened its first Nickel-Zinc battery manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China. The firm says its NiZn technology “is designed to transform the stationary immediate power applications with its high power density, recyclability and non-flammable characteristics” and will be geared toward data center UPS systems and other critical infrastructure. CCL Bows Ultra-Thin Zinc Battery

Electronics, automotive, and industrial design manufacturer CCL Design has unveiled a new ultra-thin printed zinc battery applicable to a wide variety of use cases, including medical devices. See LinkedIn for the announcement.


Startup: Organic Electrolytes at 300% VRFB Energy Density

Kodiaq Technologies, a new startup led by Cambridge University researchers and the former chair of Oxford PV, is developing organic redox flow electrolytes that it says could deliver up to 3x the energy density over vanadium options. More in PV Magazine.


Western Australia: AU$9M Grants Prioritizing LDES

The state of Western Australia has launched its fourth Clean Energy Innovation Grants program round, with AU$9M (US$6M) in funding. The program will prioritize LDES systems capable of delivering power for 10 hours or more by 2030. Details in Energy Storage News.
